A Day in the Snow

Ah, it's been awhile! The puppies are getting cuter all the time, eating dry dog food now and loving their daily romps in the snow. It took them a while to get used to our cold Minnesota winters, but they've adjusted now. They really like playing with the kitty's, but they are a little rough on them (the cat's don't appreciate that to much). Here are a few more pictures for your viewing. Enjoy!

Forget about pictures, let's just watch the puppies play!

Our little guys were four weeks old yesterday! It is so much fun to watch their individual personalities develop as they grow. It's getting a lot harder to get decent pictures of them though, puppies at this age never stop moving! While we were taking his pictures Max just had to run all over the place, until he got hungry and started crying for mommy. Clyde didn't really like the cute props we would give him to play with, but that's ok, he was even more photogenic on his own. Ginger was playful, acted like she knew she was adorable, and posed like a model. Leo didn't really like the camera flash and kept yawning (we woke him up to take his pictures). Chloe sat in one place almost the whole time, and other than jerking her head to look at things constantly, was a perfect angel. Fern was the friskiest of all, positive that licking my toes was far better than getting her picture taken. Edison wanted to run all over the place, or just be held. Whew! Forget about pictures! Let's just watch the puppies play! That is certainly what I was thinking by the time I was halfway through, but it was still fun and we sure got some cute pictures...

~Maxwell~
Max is a very blocky and strong little guy. He is one of the biggest of the litter.
He is very sweet and loves attention.

~Clyde Beatty~
Clyde is our only puppy with a last name. :) He is a poser, as you can see, and loves
attention and petting. He is such a calm, sweet, stocky guy.

~Ginger~
This girl is adorable and posed like a princess when we took her pictures.
She loves to play
and romp with her brothers and sisters, but is really a loving people puppy through and through.

~Leopold~
Leo is kind of our teddy bear. He's just so roly poly and good tempered.
He has a more
blocky build and is overall a big, playful boy.

~Chloe~
This girl is a beautiful darker yellow, and very calm and content. She will let
you do pretty much anything to her, as long as you're holding her while doing it.

~Fern~
Fern is a frisky girl, and reminds us of her mommy when she was
younger (which is a
good thing!). She is a gorgeous little lady who loves people and attention.

~Edison~
Ed is a calm, laid back boy but loves to romp and play just like any other
puppy. He is a little darker in coloring as well, and is growing into a really
handsome little guy.

The joy of a two week old puppy......

Our puppies are growing so fast! They are getting bigger by the minute, and cuter all the time! They are now walking around like "grown puppies" on all four's, instead of the newborn puppy belly crawl. But they are still very unstable and it's really fun to watch them learn. They will all cuddle together in a little pile, when they aren't nursing, and go to sleep. But if something startles one of them awake, he/she will jerk and promptly tumble off the top of the pile, rolling over and over trying desperately to right itself again. If in the unfortunate event that when he/she finally turns itself upright again, and can't see the rest of it's family (normally just because it got turned around when rolling all over the place) the puppy will cry and cry until they're all together again.  It is the cutest thing ever!!

Well, here are a few pictures of the pups at 2 weeks old. We will be getting their individual pictures up soon, Lord willing.

                                           Maxwell               Ginger
                                             Clyde                   Chloe
                                           Leopold                 Fern
                                            Edison

When Grace went into stage two labor on December 13th, we began to seriously prepare for puppies. One of the things we did was braid together different colored yarn for the puppies identification. We braided green and red together and decided, in honor of the Christmas season, to put it on the first puppy born. The first puppy born was the biggest, chubbiest puppy of all. His name is Max. :) (Although he's not the biggest anymore. Clyde has caught up to him!) But before we named him, we just called him "Christmas Puppy". We still call him that sometimes, so I decided to have Max (or Christmas Puppy) pose for our Noble Comrade Labradors doggy Christmas pictures. Here are a few of them..........isn't this guy adorable?!?!

Puppies!

At 2:00 pm on Monday, December 13th our dog Grace gave birth to her first puppy......ever! In about 6-7 hours she had given birth to seven beautiful pups, three girls and four boys. There were really no complications at all, and her labor went quite smoothly. It has been one week today, and the puppies are doing great, all chubby and healthy. :) Grace is the most adorable mother ever. She loves her puppies so much, and hardly even want's to leave them for a potty break! At first whenever we would hold a pup, she'd keep a very close eye on us to make sure we were going to give it back. But, after continuing this habit for awhile and realizing that we always did, her mind is much more at ease. :) Here are a few pictures of Grace and her beautiful  litter at 1 week old-
