Training Maxwell

What a day! Since we still have three available males to sell, we have been bringing them into the house one at a time and working on training with them. They are all doing very well, and we are so proud of them! Today was Max's day to be inside and have some one on one attention. He is quite the lover! He just sat on my lap for the longest time, he's such a mellow fellow. Later, all five nephews came over. Boy, did Max (and the boys) ever like that! Mathias (3yrs), David (2yrs), and Holden (1yr) just played and climbed all over him all evening long! Max is so good with kids, and even Holden (who is "afraid" of dogs) was all over him by the end of the night. At one point Mathias took Max's leash, put it around his waist and then David took his "puppy Mathias" for a walk! Mathias kept trying to make Max "sit" (by laying on his rump while commanding "sit puppy, sit!!") until we showed him the correct way to make puppies sit. :) I don't know if he quite understood, but hey, what can you do? Overall, Max did a great job and all the kids loved playing with him.

Leopold and Clyde have both been doing excellent in the house as well. Leo is such a calm, mellow, big boy, and Clyde loves people so much and is so smart that I'm amazed! But I'll share more about their training experiences next post....

Edison is now reserved and will be going to his new home in Finland asap! Congratulations Heidi and family!! We are so excited to see one of our puppies go to such a loving, family home. He is just the pup for you!

Mark's puppy

All of our female puppies from this litter are now either sold or reserved! Fern (now Ayla) is enjoying her new home in Oregon, Chloe (now Maddy) is loving her new family here in Minnesota and Ginger will be going to her new home soon, and shortly after begin training as a first rate hunting dog and loyal companion! The funny thing is that each of our female pups were purchased by men named "Mark". I don't know if there is any significance to that, but we thought it was cool...

Here are the little girls. Congratulations to all you Marks! :)

Growing...

Our little pups are now ten weeks old! I can't believe how fast the time flies! It seems like just yesterday that they were all sleeping in a small hump, deaf, blind, and helpless. Those days are long gone! They are now 10 weeks old, super playful, chubby, smart and so ready to find new homes! I am so surprised that we still have all seven considering how much interest we've had in them (and how adorable they all are...). Just today my nephew David was over (he's 2 year's old, and loves the puppies!) and just couldn't stop saying "cute, ah, their cute" over and over again while studying the puppies. We all have to agree!

~Fern~
Fern is a very energetic frisky girl who loves
people so much! She is a lighter golden, a rare beauty even
at this young age, and is going to make somebody
 a fantastic lifelong friend.

~Chloe~
Chloe is calm and is such a lover. She always wants
to be held even before she eats a meal! She is a darker golden,
and one of our smallest females. She's going to
make some family very happy!

~Ginger~
Ginger is also quite mellow and loves attention. She has such
a pretty face and nice form already. She is a medium to lighter golden
and is a nice medium size. She is very easy going,
I know her future owner(s) will just love her!

~Clyed Beatty~
Clyde is a big boy, and the leader of the pack. We named him
after a famous lion hunter. :) He is so sweet, and loves
his human attention. He's also very beautiful and is going to
make his future owner quite proud!

~Edison~
Edison is our sweetie. He is darker golden as well, and so
adorable! Snuggling is his specialty. Just take one
look at those calm, sweet eyes and you'll fall in love forever!

~Maxwell~
Max is a big, beautiful medium yellow boy,
and is still fondly called "Christmas Puppy" by many
in our family (that was his "name" before he was Maxwell).
You can just hold him on your lap and he loves it. He's
 waiting for a new family!

~Leopold~
Leo is our big softy. He reminds us of an adorable
teddy bear! He is a medium yellow and very handsome guy.
He's quite mellow, and very trainable.
His future owner(s) will be fortunate indeed!

Here are some short videos of our puppies.
The first one is the puppies together at 7 weeks old. Then individual videos of each.
Notice all the snow and the beautiful cold blue sky?
The day we shot these it was  -16 degrees out!
Our puppies love the snow and being outside!

First Day Out

Yesterday was the puppies very first day out. They did great in the car, and loved the vet's office! They were so good with the vet, all of them were very calm and eventually all conked out on the floor. I guess traveling is a tiring business! All the little fella's are in perfect health and were pronounced "very good looking puppies!" by our veterinarian.

This is such a fun stage that they are at right now, they are so fun to play with. I could watch them for hours! They're growing like weeds, and are about ready to find forever homes.

A little pile of tired pups
After we got done at the vet, we went over to my sister Lydia and her husband's house to say hello. David, my nephew, was thrilled when Faith brought Edison in to play with him and Scott~

Thus ended the puppies first day out. I think that they liked it!
